for starters
Some call me Kris, some call me Kristine. It's all good.
I am a part-time photographer, full time mom of three adult children and wife to Justin of 25+ years. I started making pictures when my kids were small and took an interest in senior photography when my oldest was a senior. It really didn't even cross my mind to hire a photographer. That was when I realized that I am not normal and most people do hire photographers! Before I knew it, I was taking family and friend's portraits. Through encouragement from my favorite people in the world, I took a giant leap and went into business. My husband and I (along with a leftover kid or two) live in Andover with our two dogs, and two cats. We have been Anoka County residents all of our lives.

how did i get here?
My interest in photography bloomed when I realized that I just might be good at it. I took classes and invested in great equipment and software. I took many, many, thousands upon thousands of photographs to improve. The business side of things is where I struggled, but years of experience has made me realize that you just want to be treated exactly how I want to be treated. I want you to trust that I will be your photographer at an affordable cost in a professional, respectful way. And that is how we ended up here. It would surprise me if you found me any other way other than word of mouth. I don't enjoy social media, so it's rare I post. I am fully aware how busy I could be, but I choose to put all of my focus on fewer clients so that my free time is still mine and my quality is never compromised. I never expected to get rich off of photography, and I never will. I do it because it is my life's passion.
What i like
When I am not making pictures, I love decorating my home, decluttering and organization. I am a wee bit compulsive about it. I love to create- whether that is a space, an object or art, I am all in. I also enjoy travel, girls night (once a month at my house whoop whoop!) reading, Netflix binging, and movies and eating baked goods. Cake, specifically. I really enjoy Amazon too, but that's everyone's hobby, right? I love music and will talk your ear off about the classics (80's and 90's are my classics) or any movie if you let me.

Ive been married a long, long time and I still like spending time with my husband. He's super cute and brings all of my wacky ideas to reality. What a great partner in life! I do love him dearly and if you're lucky- he may be my helper during a family or pet session.

why me?
My number one priority is making beautiful images and getting you comfortable in front of the camera. I loathe being in front of the camera. I get it- it is SO uncomfortable to stand there in front of someone you do not know and smile/pose/try to look normal. I get it and that is why I'm good at my job. I am a natural color editor, so my images (minus black and white of course) look like the colors you see when we make the picture. I don't use filters, I hand edit each image to as close to perfect that I can get. I know that if there was a 1995 filter on my favorite picture I would be disappointed here in 2024. Seniors: You will have a hard enough time believing you looked the way you do 25 from now with or without a filter- Just ask your mom :)
